Little Hartley Farm is situated close to Garden Affairs Display Centre in the beautiful village of Winsley on the outskirts of Bath and historic Bradford on Avon. The Bowles family have been farming the area for five generations and in recent years have developed the business with two Farm Shops with cafes in Winsley and Atworth both in Wiltshire. The award-winning shops stock beef, pork, fruit, vegetables, beer, honey & free ranges eggs all produced at the farm and served in their beautiful cafes.
Richard Bowles and son Tom who looks after the Farm Shop side of the business realised that with such a large customer footfall a natural extension to the business would be to branch out into a range of giftwares, cards and beautiful recycled furniture for their discerning clientele and visited Garden Affairs for help in designing a bespoke shop space that would fit naturally into the farm surroundings.
After discussing their needs and how the shop would be used, the resulting "Little Hartley Farm" provides a warm and welcoming interior with plenty of space for the farm's extensive range of giftware and recycled "shabby chic" furniture. The traditional-style cabin with veranda and balustrades is much admired by customers and has been a highly successful addition to this already popular venue.
Constructed in 44mm timber the cabin has been insulated in the roof & floor to maintain an even temperature year-round. Hard-wearing roof shingles in brown were chosen and the cabin has been painted in a pretty soft green to blend into the farm yard.
UPDATE! 2016: Due to the success of the initial Farm Shop we were asked to supply another building to be joined to the existing shop. This fantastic structure now houses a Florist, Young Blooms who creates beautiful flowers for the home, for weddings and even holds workshops; an ice cream counter has been installed together with an extended range of beautiful giftware.
