Richard
Founder & Managing Director
Read moreIt all started in 2001 when Richard an engineer was working from home using the back bedroom of their recently renovated Victorian home in Bath as his office. With their second child on the way, Richard was soon to be ousted from his office for the baby’s nursery. After spending years renovating their Victorian home in Bath, moving was not an option, they couldn’t afford a loft conversion and so they turned to the only available space left – the garden.
Richard a handy sort, decided to build his own office in the garden (a novel concept at the time) and attended woodwork classes at the local college in the evenings to learn joinery to make his own doors & windows. It has to be said, we were pretty impressed with the result. But not as impressed as our friends, who begged us to make garden buildings for them. How could we say no?
And so Garden Affairs was born. It’s been pretty much non-stop from there.
Our promise. When we built that office in our garden, we started with perfection in mind. It’s what drove us throughout that project, and continues to drive us every day. Painstaking research and planning. Hunting down premium suppliers. Finding the best, sustainably sourced timber. This is what sets us apart from the rest.
