  • Details & Specifications

    Our Flat Roof Log Cabin is a premium quality garden cabin and offers a light and airy contemporary space in which to work, rest or play. This popular building makes the ideal sized garden studio or office for the smaller garden.

    The all-timber building takes inspiration from the traditional Scandinavian log cabins and all timber used is slow-grown, Northern European Spruce from managed forests. The slow-grown timber has a tighter grain structure and makes for a sturdy garden cabin.

    Thick tongue and groove timber boards fasten together, interlocking at the corners to create the walls. Sturdy roof joists create a foundation for the tongue and groove timber ceiling which is finished with an EPDM rubber roof. The 21mm tongue and groove floor is laid on top of pressure-treated floor joists.

    Doors and windows can be factory painted to provide initial protection. The walls will arrive untreated and require a preservative layer before your paint/stain. For more information on paint and maintenance, click here to read our blog.

    • Do I need planning permission?

      In most cases, no. The Flat Roof Log Cabin is designed at 2.5m in height to, in most cases, comply with permitted development rights. For larger buildings and special planning zones, additional permission may be required. Read our comprehensive planning guide to establish any additional permissions that you may require.     • Can I change the doors and windows?

      Of course. The Flat Roof Log Cabin is customisable. Talk to the team at Garden Affairs to receive a design and quote that’s unique to your garden.

    • Do I need a concrete base?

      No. Every garden building required a flat and level base – but it doesn’t have to be concrete. We offer an eco-friendly deck base system also.

    • How long does it take to assemble?

      3 – 7 days. The Flat Roof Log Cabin can be installed as a DIY project in under a week if you’re competent with DIY. Alternatively, our team of in-house installers can assemble the building in 3 days.
