Writer's Garden Studio with a View - A homeworking case study

Our customer Dionne chose a modern flat roof log cabin from our premium range, in solid 58mm timber, measuring 2.5m x 2.5m and under 2.5m high for planning purposes, for her outdoor writing studio. She has created a beautiful, cosy haven in her garden, a dedicated space, in which to write in peace in quiet, escaping the distractions of the house and her 3 children. 
The writing studio has been positioned to made the most of the views from her garden and faces an inspirational and stunning valley vista.  A raised deck base with decking at the front, (with enough room for a couple of chairs, and a small table) solved the problem of uneven ground.  A fully glazed door & a desk height window to the front elevation allow for unrestricted views and let light flood in. Double glazing, roof & floor insulation, 58mm timber and a log burner ensure the cabin is cosy 365 days a year and 24-7. 
Having fallen in love with the black and red colour schemes of timber buildings on a trip to Sweden, Dionne has created her own little piece of Scandinavia to great effect, and used our recommended paint  "Sadolin Superdec" which gives a long-lasting, 10-year life.
The final touch is a sedum green roof which not only adds to the insulating properties of the building but also looks great from the house and provides a wildlife habitat, completing the very eco-friendly credentials of this outdoor space.
