Leather Interior Design Studio

Our customer, Mrs Granger, lives in a two-bed cottage in west London and runs her business (designing bespoke leather interiors, fashion and pet accessories) from a studio in her garden.

"I originally set up shop in my small garden summerhouse. However, as my business grew, so did the need to stock more leather hides.  Eventually, I was using my tiny spare room as an office and workshop and the summerhouse as storage."

"Renting office space would have been costly and involved travelling, so in the end, I decided the ideal solution would be a purpose-built garden office."
"I knew I wanted something a bit different and came across Garden Affairs on the internet. I chose their Daisy Log Cabin because of its characterful New England design.  What's more, Garden Affairs were happy to modify the design to suit my requirements.  The cabin itself is fully insulated and windows and doors are double-glazed."

"It measures a generous 5 metres by 4.5 metres, so I broke the space up into two rooms.  Initially, I used the main room as my office and workshop with the other room as an additional storage area, But there was so much storage space in the main room, that I've since converted the second area into a gym"

"As well as supplying the modified cabin, Garden Affairs also took care of the installation, the cabin took 3 workmen just two days to put up.  I was astonished at how hard they worked and it all went without a hitch".

"The finished office is nine metres from the house and hardly impacts on the garden.  In fact, it looks fabulous from the house.  But the inside space surpassed all my expectations and I began planning a sophisticated finish for the interior."

"The timber walls are the perfect backdrop for natural colours and textures, such as my cowhide rugs."

"As I often work for up to 9 hours a day, it was very important for me to have the right environment, so I've created two distinct workstations - office and workshop - along with a cosy seating area.  I've also made sure there's plenty of light and, thanks to good ventilation and a wall-mounted fire, the cabin is comfortable whatever the season"

"It was worth every penny, as it's given me everything I wanted in a workspace.  I find it relaxing and inspiring, and it's definitely helped my business.  What's more, because I no longer work in the house, I've benefited from increased space there, too".
