How a new Garden Building could be your perfect Winter Hideaway

Sometimes your indoor space is just not quite enough to fit everyone in comfortably – especially at times like Christmas when extra family members come to stay and friends are popping in.

But creating extra space through renovation might seem like a luxury you can’t afford. The cost of extending is likely to involve major capital expenditure. And, in the current climate, prices, lead times and the availability of materials and labour are unpredictable. Not to mention the upheaval, time and inconvenience of having builders in, and maybe even having to vacate your home while the work is done.

So is there another way of creating some breathing space in your home – separate play space for the kids, a quiet getaway for the adults, or a home office that frees up the space it’s currently taking up?

Create extra space with a no-compromise garden room.

How about using your garden space to create some extra room? If you’re lucky enough to have a garden (and it doesn’t have to be big), you’ve got the ideal solution to the problem of overcrowding indoors.

At Garden Affairs, we pride ourselves in being able to offer an outdoor building for any size of garden. With a wide range to choose from, minor disruption to your day-to-day living (all the construction happens outside so you won’t be inconvenienced), and competitive prices, a new garden building could be an exciting, practical and affordable way for you to expand your living space.

A garden room is ideal if:

  • You’re short on space.
  • You don’t want the hassle of upsizing.
  • You don’t have the capital for an extension.
  • You love your family home and don’t want to move to a bigger place.

But isn’t a garden building just a posh shed? And won’t it be just as cold and damp, especially in winter?

No!

Garden buildings have come a long way since the days when they were little more than sheds with sofas. Now, if you choose wisely, you can get yourself a building that’s as warm, watertight and robust as a bricks-and-mortar show home. The perfect cosy winter hideaway!

Read on to find out how one of our garden rooms could provide the comfortable outdoor space you need, all year round.

Inside a Linea garden room

Created with warmth in mind.

Our Linea garden buildings offer you a choice of high-spec, luxury and eco-friendly offices, studios and summerhouses, created with warmth in mind.

They come with high-grade insulation built into the walls, roof and floor, providing a valuable layer of protection from the outside temperature.

Together with the sustainably-sourced timber, this creates a naturally breathable building, which will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. And you needn’t worry about condensation, which can lead to the build-up of damp in non-breathable, poorly ventilated buildings.

The warm tongue and groove/MDF internal lining and laminate flooring provide a refined finish. And we use double-glazing on the doors and windows to further reduce heat loss.

So not only does the Linea offer you valuable space for a garden getaway, you can be guaranteed warmth and comfort in the winter months – the ideal Christmas cabin to escape to when the lounge is just that little bit too…. cosy.

Add a little electricity.

Your versatile garden room needs a few bells and whistles to maximise its potential. One of these is electricity, for lighting, electrical equipment (like consoles and computers) and, when it’s really cold outside, heating.

With our electrical service, you can pick and choose the fixtures you want, and exactly where you want them. And, remember, your building is in the heart of the great outdoors, so it might get nippy in the cold winter months. So it’s important you heat it well. We highly recommend the installation of a convection heater to create a really cosy atmosphere.

If you live within a 100-mile radius of our Trowbridge show site, we’ll do all the installation work for you. Put your feet up while we prepare the base, install the building and bring in the electrician to wire up the building, and make it move-in ready.

Create a versatile space for all seasons.

Linea garden building

The Linea range offers more than just some extra space when things are getting cramped in the house. With a Linea garden room, you can create all manner of additional living solutions, from a garden office or studio to a teen den, hobby room or art studio.

We’ll help you customise your new space to your needs. You can divide your building into two or more internal areas, for work and leisure. A Linea building can also serve as a modern storage solution: we can install cupboards in your cabin, allowing you to free up storage space in the house.

And don’t forget that your Linea building is not just for Christmas. It will serve you faithfully throughout the year. Its timber structure will breathe as the season's change, creating a comfortable living space all year round. In the warmer months, you can open the double doors onto your garden to create an indoor-outdoor space – perfect conditions for working for home or enjoying some leisure time away from it all.

A Linea garden building will prove itself to be an easy, practical and highly versatile addition to your home for many years to come.

What our customers say...

“I am delighted. I have been so impressed with your entire team. Even when there was a problem, it has been resolved without a fuss and with the usual high level of care that has been displayed from start to finish. I will be recommending you to all. Hopefully this will generate some business for you as I have been asked a few times already about who supplied such a great building. I would like to thank you again for a brilliant service and experience.”

Mr Henderson, Brighton

“Just to say the installer guys have been fantastic today and our neighbours response so far has been one of jealousy (in a nice way). The team are a credit to you.”

Mr Wilson - Trowbridge, Wiltshire

“We would like to thank you for all your help .... in the selection, supply and build of our garden room. You were all extremely helpful & courteous, and willingly helped me with "tricks of the trade" for the construction of the base and the the self-assembly of the garden room. When I broke my finger during construction (nothing to do with building the room - waterskiing!) you stepped in at short notice to help finish the roof. We are very happy with the building, and would willingly recommend…”

Mr Langley-Johnson - Wiltshire

“The Grove Primary hired Garden Affairs to build us our beautiful ‘Calm Cabin’. From our initial enquiry to completion we were guided through. The installation team constructed it and the whole process was seamless. They have a vast array of choices, styles, colours, construction and helped us to decide on what has turned out to be a better than expected ‘calm cabin’ for our children to enjoy. Thank you for all your help and we would definitely come to you for anything further in the future.”

The Grove Primary School - Trowbridge, Wiltshire

“Firstly, I wanted to comment to you about your installation team. What a fantastic and lovely set of guys! The amazing Garden Affairs experience has continued to completion of a magnificent building. My wife is a little daunted by the size but I could not be happier! Many thanks again for your and the teams efforts on my behalf. If you ever need a testimonial or reference, I would be delighted to rave on alarmingly to anyone about your excellence!”

Mr Watson - Lambourn, Berkshire

“We are really pleased with the finished building and looking forward to moving in Thank the boys for all their hard work and cheery attitude to all the challenges the weather gave them! They have done a great job. We are really pleased with the finished building and looking forward to moving in, in the new year and enjoying the garden”
