Flat Roof Garden Room Under 2.5m
This family from Bristol visited our show site looking for a space for their growing children to escape to. In reality, the whole family are now using this versatile space.
As the family wanted to position their garden room closer than 2 metres from their boundary (and did not wish to apply for planning permission), they opted for a corner building with a flat roof (under 2.5m) in height.
The result is a contemporary design designed to offer plenty of light. Painted in muted colours to blend effortlessly in to its surroundings the garden room has been positioned on to an attractive patio base.
The family are using their room to the full: "We have had a wonderful time in our house; we’ve had sleepovers, I sew in it regularly and my children take their friends in to watch movies or play on the computer games machine. It's amazing what you can make a 8ft square space do! It has helped tremendously having so many windows; though sourcing a method of shading from the sun without cutting out the light with curtains was a challenge.
Our neighbours are particularly impressed with the soundproofing qualities and as our children grow into teenagers that will become more important!"
